FAQ – Applicants
Q: Is there a charge for placement assistance?
A: No, our clients pay all of our fees, so there will never be any charge to you as an applicant.
Q: Are most of your openings temporary positions?
A: No, actually more than 80 percent of our openings are permanent positions, and many of those are direct hire positions that offer benefits from day one of your employment. We certainly work on temporary positions when our clients have needs in that area, but the vast majority of our clients call us asking for assistance with direct hire and temp-to-hire job opportunities.
Q: How long does the registration process take?
A: Typically only 30-45 minutes because we send you our paperwork in advance so you do not have to waste time filling out paperwork at our office. We are open from 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. each weekday, so we are happy to have you come in before work, after work or even during your lunch hour.
Q: What happens when I come in to register with Drake & Company?
A: We ask applicants interested in office support positions to take a short typing test, and then we have you interview with our recruiter before briefly meeting the rest of our team.
Q: Should I dress professionally when I come in to register?
A: Yes, we treat the registration process like a job interview because it gives us a feel as to how you will dress and present yourself when you interview with one of our clients.
Q: Will Drake help me make some changes to my resume if needed?
A: Yes, we have a professional resume service here at Drake & Company, but we are also happy to help you make some small tweaks to your resume (at no charge) that might give you a better chance to catch the eye of a potential employer.
Q: Will Drake & Company help prepare me for client interviews?
A: Yes, absolutely. We visit all of our clients to talk with them about the skill set and personality that will fit in best with their team and meet their needs. Because we know what our clients are looking for, we can share that information with you and help you get ready for your interview.
Q: Will someone from Drake & Company call me when there is an open position for me?
A: Yes, we will keep you in mind for any position that matches your qualifications, but we also ask that you check in with us from time to time and keep your name in front of us.
Q: Can I ask for a list of clients that you typically work with?
A: No, our clients expect us to keep our positions confidential, so we cannot reveal the name of a specific client unless they are interested in interviewing you for a position.
