Description / Qualifications

Our Madison-area client is seeking an IT Project Assistant to provide both guidance and support by delivery of timely and accurate product testing, problem identification, research, and documentation. The IT Project Assistant will also play a part on development and steering teams and must be capable of operating in cross-functional meetings, when required, with tact and finesse. This role will work alongside our in-house developer and provide direct support to end users both on-site and remote, as well as performing functionality testing and documentation of our critical, customer facing, product configuration website. They will be expected to learn, test, and document the software, facilitate meetings and schedules, and provide limited direct support of product configurations, testing processes, and remediations.

This self-starting, customer facing, position is instrumental in ensuring the efficiency of our workforce by maximizing the availability and responsiveness of technical resources and providing documentation to streamline troubleshooting and response efforts. This is a temporary/contract position starting now through 12/2019 with potential for extension based on need and fit.

Essential Duties

  • Prepare notes and agendas for product meetings
  • Plan and organize tasks and schedules for releases
  • Respond to user requests and follow up on any questions
  • Develop and maintain internal relationships
  • Understand, follow, and create team/ticket workflows
  • Create and manage tickets within defined workflows
  • Coordinate time and calendar with team members and for project deliverables
  • Understand and use advanced functions in rule-based environments (such as Excel)
  • Follow instructions for basic testing of new software functionality such as testing in multiple browsers. All advanced testing is done with team coordination
  • Ask questions and define requirements
  • Articulate the consequences of changes and how they affect other tasks and schedules
  • Create and update documentation for use by end users, internal staff, and admins
  • Document issues, using a bug tracking (ticketing) system, and report defects to software developers
  • Collaborate with end users, team members, and vendors to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions

Requirements

  • Previous experience involving Project Management or Project Support a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in Technical Customer Service or Quality Assurance a plus
