Description / Qualifications

Our Madison client is looking for a new accountant to join their team! This employee has both traditional accounting responsibilities as well as some non-traditional but accounting-related duties, so they must be open and willing to learn new tasks. Our client has a very small office, so they are looking for an outgoing, team player who is willing to step out of their office and assist with whatever tasks need doing! This position also requires company-paid travel for 2 weeks out of the year to attend trade conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts receivable/payable
  • Deposits & bank reconciliation
  • Financial reports
  • Develop annual budget with executive director and treasurer
  • Coordinate with CPA firm hired for annual audit, tax filings and personal tax reporting
  • Maintain appropriate records for the organization’s fundraising activities
  • Invoice membership dues and process payments for dues & renewals
  • Matching Funds Coordinator
  • Provide board members, officers, affiliates, endorsed companies, media sources, and members with current membership information and the organization’s reports upon request
  • Perform all government reporting for legislative needs
  • Keep all certifications and licenses for the organization up to date
  • Grant Applications
  • Receive and review the organization’s reports
  • Financial reports & reconciliations
  • LAN configuration and maintenance
  • Keep TLW current on computer licensing agreements
  • Schedule backups and maintenance for computer system and other office equipment
  • Software, hardware updates, upgrade recommendations and installations
  • Schedule staff training on new/upgrades to software/hardware
  • Keep membership database current and provide appropriate reports to the Board of Directors, local league leaders and affiliates
  • Provide back-up to the receptionist/administrative assistant as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or four-year degree in accounting
  • Minimum 2-year Accounting experience
  • Ability to type, file and answer phones
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency working with software applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other applications including social media
  • Proficiency with Access and QuickBooks absolutely necessary
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP accounting software knowledge preferred
  • iMIS Database knowledge preferred
  • Teamwork skills
  • Valid Driver’s License is required
  • Must be able to travel occasionally
