Donations Sought For Dressed For Success Clothing Drive

Literacy_NetworkOne of the biggest tips we share with job seekers is to always dress professionally for a job interview. While a suit is not necessary for every interview, an applicant should dress to impress any potential employer. First impressions are an important part of the interview process and that is why we want to help out the Literacy Network with a clothing drive.

The Literacy Network is a program funded by the United Way of Dane County that provides assistance to low-literacy adults in our area. The mission of this non-profit program is to assist adults with literacy skills with a focus on health, financial and workplace literacy. The Literacy Network now seeks gently-used clothing for adults seeking employment.

When we first heard about this need, we knew we had to do what we could to help out. Between Monday, March 23—Friday, April 3, Drake & Company Staffing Specialists will hold a Dressed For Success clothing drive to benefit the Literacy Network. Please drop off clean and gently used items at our office to donate.

Items most needed:

  • Skirts and dresses
  • Dress pants
  • Dress shoes and no slip shoes
  • Denim and work pants
  • Safety glasses, work gloves, hard hats
  • Blouses and button downs
  • Sweaters and cardigans
  • Ties and belts
  • Work boots (steel-toed preferred)

Donations can be dropped off at Drake & Company, 660 W Washington Avenue, Suite 300, Madison on Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.—5 p.m. If you have questions about the clothing drive, please contact Stephanie at (608) 257-2411.

The Literacy Network is also in need of volunteers to help sort clothing for the Dressed For Success program. Please call the organization directly for more details at (608) 244-3911.
