Coaches vs. Cancer: Suits and Sneakers Corporate Challenge

SuitsAndSneakersOne of the causes near and dear to our hearts at Drake & Company is Coaches vs. Cancer, which helps to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. This program is a nationwide initiative that teams up the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to raise funds for cancer research. The Wisconsin chapter of Coaches vs. Cancer has alone raised more than $2.7 million to help in the fight against cancer.

Coaches vs. Cancer encourages local businesses to participate in the Suits and Sneakers Corporate Challenge in January. For a minimum $5 donation, employees of participating companies will wear sneakers with their suits to show support for this cause. The official challenge date is Tuesday, January 20, when UW Men’s Basketball coach Bo Ryan will sport his suit and sneakers in the game against Iowa.

Recently, NBC 15 stopped by the Drake & Company office to speak with CEO Kelly Starr-King about what Suits and Sneakers means to our organization. The Drake team got into the spirit of the event by lacing up sneakers and wearing suits to help promote the challenge.

Sign up for the Suits and Sneakers Corporate Challenge is easy and participation can take place anytime between January and April 2015. Donations to the American Cancer Society return back to help residents of Wisconsin where current research grants in the state total more than $12.4 million.
