Our client is looking for an experienced buyer/purchasing employee to handle the following duties: 1)Select and certify suppliers based on quality, total cost, lead time, service, technical support, and financial stability; 2)Monitor, document, and communicate supplier performance in the areas of quality, delivery, and responsiveness to supplier corrective actions and sample submission requests; 3)Coordinate and facilitate early supplier involvement projects to insure adherence to industrial design intent, engineering specifications, and schedules, especially in support of new product development; 4)Formulate sourcing strategies to support short-term and long-term
operational requirements; 5)Submit timely reports concerning price trends and market conditions that affect
supply; 6)Research and implement opportunities for reducing component 'total cost ownership'; 7)Conduct on-site reviews of supplier facilities and product/process
capability and capacity to assess current and potential supplier qualifications; 8)Develop standard costs based on market/economic factors and projected price changes

REQUIREMENTS: 1)5-9 years of experience in a manufacturing setting; 2)4 year degree in Materials Management, Business, Supply Chain Manufacturing, or Operation Management; 3)Certification of Purchasing Management (CPM), Six Sigma, LEAN, or formal training in Supply Chain Management is desirable
